Series Blauberg FPRD

Fire protection pressure control valves
Use
  • Pressure control valves FPRD are intended for use in fire protection ventilation systems to control the pressure difference in accordance with the requirements of EN 12101-6:2015 Smoke and heat control systems - Part 6: Specification for pressure differential systems (EN 12101-6:2005, IDT; EN 12101-6:2005/AC:2006, IDT).
  • When calculating air pressure systems, air leaks through open doors, openings, and other gaps shall be taken into account. When these are closed, the pressure difference between the protected space (lobbies, stairwells, elevator shafts, etc.) and the fire zone can reach critical levels.
  • To balance the pressure difference in these spaces and make sure doors on escape routes can be opened easily (standard handle force — no more than 100 N), a FPRD valve must be installed.
  • The device has a dual purpose:
    • regulating excess pressure — the valve opens automatically when a pressure difference occurs;
    • acting as a fire-resistant, fire protection valve that prevents smoke gases from entering protected areas.
Design
  • The valve is made of galvanized (common design) or stainless steel (corrosion-resistant design) as required.
  • A rotary damper made of heat-resistant material is installed inside the casing.
  • A spring mechanism installed inside the valve casing acts as a control element.
  • The product can be manufactured in a two-flange version for direct mounting into an air duct or in a single-flange version for mounting in a wall.
  • The FPRD product can be used in temperate and cold climates.

Mounting
  • The valve should only be installed in a vertical position, with the damper axis parallel to the floor and the control element located outside the zone where the plates move.
  • Before installation, check the integrity of the valve and its operability: the damper should open and close freely without jamming or friction.
  • The distance from the valve casing to the wall or ceiling must be at least 75 mm, and when installed in a fire barrier, the damper in the closed position must be fully located inside the structure.
